Conway is the largest town (by population) in Carroll County, New Hampshire. As of the 2000 census, the population was 8,604. Parts of the White Mountain National Forest run through the town. Since the town provides access to the White Mountains, tourism plays a major role in Conway's economy. Shopping outlets, Cranmore Mountain Ski Resort, hotels, inns and more are locally offered. Conway is the commercial center for Carroll County and a large area of rural western Maine. Not only does the area offer the factory outlet stores, but there are also big-box stores, supermarkets, restaurants and authentic rail roads nearby. One of the biggest draws to the Conway Village and the surrounding communities of the Mt. Washington Valley include North Conway, Jackson, Bartlett, Madison and Ossippee NH. In addition to an incredible array of activities from skiing, skating, snowmobiling, ice climbing, etc, visitors will enjoy tax free shopping and more. |
